On August, 12th, 2009, coming back from WFF expeditions on Carpathians, we have visited fortress Khotin (URDA CN-15) of Chernovtsy oblast.

Fortress Khotin has been constructed under the decree of Kiev's grand duke Vladimir Velikiy in the beginning of XI century and has entered into system of boundary fortresses in the west and the south of the state. The fortress is located on the bank of the river Dnestr. Its some castles, towers and separate structures have very well remained up to now.

After short excursion on the fortress, we have disposed nearby and during a half hours (unfortunately could not any more, it was necessary to go further) I worked on air by call sign US0FS/P (ор. ER3GS) - fortress Khotin, URDA CN-15.

Transceiver YAESU FT-900 and automobile antenna MFJ-1620 were used. There was made 118 QSO.

All OSO's for "Ukrainian Castles" and "Ukrainian Fortersses" Awards are valid .
