The award "City-fortress Azov" has been instituted by the Azov radio amateur organization of Rostov oblast and devoted to the 940 anniversary of Azov (celebrated in 2007).

Day of the City is celebrated on October, 14th in day of the patroness of Cossacks - feast of the Intercession of the Mother of God.

The award is given to any licensed radio-amateur or SWL who scored 100 points. Any QSO with Azov (RDA RO-09) and Azov district (RDA RO-24) gives 20 points. Points double during October 200 and State Celebrations of Russian Federation.

Contacts are valid since 01.01.2007. Repeater contacts on different bands are valid. The application for diploma is based on the received QSL cards and certified by signatures of two licensed radiohams.

Award fee for radiohams outside CIS is 250 RUR by postal order.
